Wailing Willie

There is a feral cat that wanders into my yard from time to time. He can be heard mumbling to himself as he's coming and as he's leaving. He has a very distinct voice, and he only hangs out on my patio because, when I hear him coming, I get a small bit of food ready for him.

I've taken to calling him Wailing Willie (as opposed to Pitiful Pete, the endearing ginger tabby that also comes around once every few weeks) because of his tendencies to cry to himself as he walks by. He doesn't like people much - in fact, he made well-known his dislike of the camera when I stepped outside with it. But he has also come to respect me a little more than he once did, he is no longer afraid to be within a few feet of me. He knows I am the bringer of food, so he tolerates my presence.
